Life's a Game

                                                                      Life's a Game

I can imagine myself fifteen years from now already a successful computer engineer married to a beautiful woman and having three children, one son and two daughters.  We would live in a two storey house with a front porch where the kids can play, and at the side there would be a dog house which my son and I would build and we would have a dog named Marlee who is a very faithful bulldog. I imagine we would be living somewhere in the United States of America and where I will pursue my dream to become a National Basketball Association All-Star player. I wish to belong in Los Angeles Lakers team, but really, any time would do.
I would happen to also work in a well-known company which gives a good salary so I can provide my family their wants and needs.  I will manage my time between work and home because I want to spend more time with my loved ones.  I will teach my children good manners and to be God-fearing.  We would go to church during Sundays and spend quality time together.  I would probably even train my own son basketball so that he can follow my footsteps of becoming an NBA player.  As for my two daughters, they would be two graceful ballerinas immersed in musical instruments such as piano and violin.  As for my loving and most caring wife, she would be the most rational, independent and strong woman I have ever met and that I am the luckiest man to have her.  There might be much I expect of my family and I might sound like a perfectionist but all I really want is for us to be happy all the time.
At the age of twenty-nine, I would have already bought a private jet that would take us anywhere around the world.  We would go to Hawaii when it gets too cold in the US, or to Alaska and see the northern lights, or might it be in the Philippines so we can see our family and relatives anytime.  We would buy a rest house in Boracay so that we can stay there during our vacation.
When we visit the Philippines, I would teach my children the traditions and ways of the Filipinos so that the Filipino spirit will live within them and not just in their blood.
By this time, I would also have brought my parents a house and lot plus a swimming pool so that they would also enjoy.  I will visit them from time to time because I miss them easily and I know they will like it because their grandchildren will be there to entertain them and keep them company.  We would have plenty of family reunions and I would get to see my parents, sisters, cousins, aunts, uncles and grandmother to keep the bond in our family strong.  I love family gatherings because despite everything that’s going on in our own busy lives, we still got our loved ones who are truly there for us and got our backs no matter what happens.  That’s what family is for.
During our vacation in the Philippines, I would also visit my friends and old schoolmates, who would, by then be successful in their own field.  We’ll be having a get-together and catch up on one another’s lives.  It’s hard to notice how fast time flies while keeping up with our current lives and working.  I wouldn’t be so shocked to find out that one of my classmates from high school is the owner of his own business company or to have a toast for the upcoming wedding of one of my best friends since elementary.  There might be some things I wouldn’t have expected but that’s life; you can never guess what’s going to happen next.
If by that time I would have already committed all my dreams and wishes in life, I will still not stop working.  My father always tells me that the key to success is hard work and perseverance.  I really look up to him because he is the reason why I am what I’ve become today.  I also admire my mother for being gentle and graceful even in the midst of troubles and problems that life throws at us.  Both of them are my role models and I aspire to become all those good qualities that they have.  I promise them, and to myself, that I will do well in school so that I can excel in life.
As I have been thinking about it, life is nothing but a game.  And we are nothing but the players.  Sometimes we win, and sometimes we don’t.  Since it’s already the twentieth century, the game is changing fast and we must cope with today’s technologies, happenings and trends in order to live a balanced life.  I couldn’t imagine what other new technologies might come fifteen years from now. As a National Basketball Association player, I would try my best to play harder to achieve one of my goals in life. I want to make history in sports.
